Descripción
Overview
The Emerson EPRO AMS 6500 series A6140 is a dual-channel vibration monitoring module designed for high-integrity rotating machinery protection. It is engineered for continuous measurement of absolute shaft vibration by correlating proximity probe displacement signals with casing-mounted seismic sensor inputs. The module operates within the AMS 6500 platform and is widely applied in critical asset protection systems requiring API 670-aligned monitoring performance.
This plug-in module is field-replaceable and supports hot-swapping, enabling maintenance without interrupting system operation.
Measurement Architecture
The module integrates two independent measurement paths:
-
Channel 1 processes shaft relative motion using an eddy-current proximity probe system
-
Channel 2 evaluates casing vibration through a seismic or piezoelectric accelerometer input
-
Combined processing mode calculates absolute shaft vibration for enhanced diagnostic accuracy
Signal fusion logic enables correlation between shaft displacement and structural vibration, improving fault detection sensitivity in high-speed rotating equipment.
