System Overview

The Emerson EPRO measurement solution combining PR6423/00R-030 proximity probe and CON021 signal converter is a matched eddy-current displacement system designed for continuous monitoring of rotating machinery behavior.

The probe captures non-contact shaft movement, while the CON021 module converts the raw signal into standardized industrial outputs for control, diagnostics, and protection layers. This configuration is commonly used in API 670-aligned machinery monitoring architectures.

The system is factory-calibrated as a pair, eliminating field calibration requirements and ensuring consistent transfer accuracy.

Measurement Principle

The probe operates by generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field at the tip. Variations in shaft-to-probe distance alter the eddy-current response in the conductive target surface. These variations are converted into proportional voltage signals, which are then conditioned by the CON021 module into linear engineering values.

This architecture enables stable measurement of both static and dynamic shaft behavior in harsh rotating equipment environments.
