System Architecture Overview
The Emerson Epro measurement set consisting of PR6426/010-140 proximity probe and CON021/916-240 signal converter is a matched displacement monitoring solution used for precision shaft dynamics analysis. The probe operates on eddy-current non-contact principles, while the associated CON021 conditioning unit performs signal linearization, amplification, and industrial signal conversion.
Both components are factory-calibrated as a pair, enabling direct installation without field adjustment or calibration procedures.
This system is commonly deployed for continuous monitoring of shaft position, axial movement, thermal growth, and eccentricity in rotating machinery.
Measurement Principle & Functional Behavior
The sensing system relies on eddy-current interaction between the probe tip and conductive target surface. Variations in gap distance are converted into proportional electrical signals.
