Overview
The IC687BEM731 is a Genius Bus Controller module from GE Automation & Controls. It supports Series 90-70 and PACSystems RX7i PLCs. This module manages high-speed communication on the Genius I/O bus. It connects up to 31 devices, including I/O blocks, remote drops, and other PLCs. It supports redundant systems and datagram messaging. Hence, it fits complex industrial automation networks well. The module uses one single slot in the PLC backplane and includes one serial handheld monitor port for diagnostics.
