The IC697CGR772 is a high-reliability Hot Standby CPU designed for the GE Fanuc Series 90-70 PLC platform. It is engineered specifically for redundant control architectures where uninterrupted operation and deterministic performance are mandatory. By operating two synchronized CPUs in an active/standby configuration, the system maintains continuous process control even during hardware failure or maintenance events.
This CPU is powered by an embedded Intel 80486DX4 processor running at 96 MHz and supports full 32-bit floating-point arithmetic. Its dual Genius bus architecture ensures fast, deterministic communication with distributed I/O and enables real-time state synchronization between redundant controllers. With large discrete and analog I/O capacity and fast Boolean execution, IC697CGR772 is well suited for complex, large-scale control systems.
The module integrates seamlessly with Series 90-70 racks, IC697 local I/O, and IC660/IC661 Genius I/O products, making it a proven solution for legacy and long-life industrial installations.
