Overview

The 1797-BIC is a FLEX Ex Bus Isolator and Flexbus Connector from Rockwell Automation. It connects FLEX Ex and FLEX I/O modules in hazardous environments. It ensures safe communication between intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe segments. The module supports up to eight FLEX I/O modules and mounts on a standard DIN rail. LED indicators show the +V and –V power status. Rockwell designed it to meet CE standards for Zone 2 and Zone 22 locations. Although discontinued in 2017, it remains critical for engineering replacements in existing systems.
